Trans people can face unique challenges in the workplace. Increasing your awareness of this community and your confidence in allyship is important to foster an inclusive workplace environment.
This training will introduce you to the trans and gender diverse community and equip you with the fundamentals of workplace inclusion, addressing common questions including:
- What do different terms for gender and sexuality mean (LGBTQ+)?
- What should I know about the trans community?
- What challenges do trans people face in the workplace?
- Why is inclusion important?
- What are some key inclusive workplace practices?
- How can I be a trans ally?
Pride Training courses are developed and delivered by LGBTQ+ community members and subject matter experts, and include activities, media, open discussions, and access to a range of useful resources.
- Define LGBTQ+ and differentiate between gender and sexuality
- Describe some of the common shared experiences of the trans community
- Outline common challenges trans people can experience in the workplace
- Implement practical trans allyship in the workplace including inclusive language and appropriate terminology
